Tools are items in the Animal Crossing series. These items are used outside in the town. They perform a variety of functions.
Axe[]
The axe is a tool that allows the player to chop trees.
Regular axe[]
The regular axe can be obtained at the Gardening Store for 400 bells. It will last for 32 chops and rarely produce a stump pattern.
Silver axe[]
The silver axe can be obtained at the Island for 8 medals. It will last for 136 chops and always produce a stump pattern.
Gold axe[]
The gold axe can be obtained at the Gardening Store after purchasing 50 saplings. It will never break, and sometimes produce a stump pattern.
Fishing rod[]
The fishing rod is a tool that allows the player to fish.
Regular fishing rod[]
The regular fishing rod can be bought for 500 bells at the Nookling Stores.
Silver fishing rod[]
The silver fishing rod can be bought for 500 bells at the Museum Shop after donating 30 fish. It catches fish slightly faster.
Gold fishing rod[]
The gold fishing rod can be obtained from Chip after catching all fish. it catches fish much faster.
Megaphone[]
The megaphone is a tool that, when equipped, the player can speak into the 3DS' microphone to find the location of a villager. It is bought for 500 bells.
Net[]
The net is a tool that allows the player to catch bugs.
Regular net[]
The regular fishing rod can be bought for 500 bells at the Nookling Stores.
Silver net[]
The silver net can be bought for 500 bells at the Museum Shop after donating 30 bugs. It features a greater range.
Gold net[]
The gold net can be obtained from Nat after catching all insects. It features a much greater range.
Shovel[]
The shovel allows the player to dig up objects.
Regular shovel[]
The regular shovel can be bought for 500 bells at the Nookling Stores.
Silver shovel[]
The silver shovel can be bought for 500 bells at the Museum Shop after donating 15 fossils. It may produce ore when used on the money rock.
Gold shovel[]
The gold shovel can obtained from Leif after purchasing 50 fertilizer bags. It allows the planting of bell trees.
Slingshot[]
The slingshot allows the player to shoot down balloons.
Regular slingshot[]
The regular slingshot can be bought for T&T Mart and onwards for 500 bells. It shoots one pellet.
Silver slingshot[]
The silver slingshot can be obtained after shooting down 14 balloons. It shoots two pellets.
Gold slingshot[]
The gold slingshot can be obtained after shooting down 14 balloons. It shoots three pellets.
Watering can[]
The watering can allows the player to water flowers.
Regular watering can[]
The regular watering can can be bought from the Gardening Store for 500 bells. It waters one flower at a time.
Silver watering can[]
The silver watering can can be obtained from the Gardening Store after purchasing 50 flowers. It waters five flowers at a time.
Gold watering can[]
The gold watering can can be obtained after having Perfect Town for 15 days straight. It waters nine flowers at a time.
Toy Hammer[]
The toy hammer is a tool that can be earned on Tortimer Island. It has no use.
Timer[]
The timer is a tool that will count down for 3, 5, 10, or 15 minutes. It can be bought for 500 Bells.
Wet Suit[]
The wet suit can be obtained at Tortimer Island for 40 medals.
